CTALA News

Text Box: When the Central Texas Association of Lebanese Americans (CTALA) was founded in 1988, it was calling for the withdrawal of all non-Lebanese armies and militias from Lebanon through the implementation of UN resolutions 425 and 520, the formation of a national government, as well as free and fair elections under supervision of international committees.
CTALA was and still is the only organization that did not change its objectives over the years. The aim and goal of CTALA was a free and sovereign Lebanon. Today we have witnessed the withdrawal of what is left of the Syrian army from Lebanon. CTALA congratulates the Lebanese people for these heroic events and promises them to continue working toward the same goals. (See What We, p.3)

Contact Your U.S. Representatives or Senator
By: Abraham Hashem
The first amendment gives you the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances. That means you can write to government leaders and tell them what you think about an issue like Social Security-and the internet can make that task easy.
To contact your U.S. representative, you can go to townhall.com and click on "Contact Congress" section. If you don't know who represents you in the U.S. House, that's OK: You can type in your ZIP code and the website automatically gives you the name, information, and websites of your representatives, both senators, and the president. You also can find out when specific congressional committees meet about a specific issue of importance to you, at townhall.com. (See Contact, p.3)
